In babel inMotion, familiar structures of music and its perception are broken open, and new paths are revealed. Modernity and tradition, different cultures and styles come into dialogue.
The babel-like confusion of voices is reinterpreted into an appreciation of cultural and religious diversity. Especially in times of political and religious radicalization, Babel inMotion opens up perspectives for a constructive dialogue with the “Other”.
“How wonderful that young musicians are so ambitiously and sensitively weaving themselves in and tuning in, how clever the compositional reworking! The Asambura Ensemble has created a musical space with the MISSA MELASUREJto absorb the longing for peace and encounter and shape it through musical forms.”
The performance of the interreligious mass becomes the subject of religion-based music education and, in this way, a place for peace-oriented perception and guidance. Thus, a new door is opened for resonance-oriented religious educational work: When music and religious educators stimulate and train the listening, aesthetic co-creation, and understanding of interreligious forms, a promising pedagogical space opens up for the encounter of religions and peaceful coexistence.”
